Cambridge Wedding Photography

Alex Beckett

“I want your wedding photos to feel as if they are the memories of a close friend who was with you on the most special day of your life, not the images of someone extra employed to be at your wedding. This is the way I work, this is the way I capture photos that will be passed down to your children and grandchildren.” Alex Beckett

Consistently voted as one of the top Wedding and Pre-Wedding photographers in the country, Alex first won international recognition with the Junebug Best of the Best wedding photography award in 2015 and has consistently won major, prestigious awards every year since. • Wedding: Magdalene College, Cambridge – Florence & Jason

Looking for a Cambridge wedding Photographer? Click here. I’m going to keep this introduction brief, not because there isn’t tonnes to say about Flo and Jason and their fun-packed wedding in Magdalene College, but because there are so many photos in this blog post and I don’t want to make […]

Why I love Cambridge

Cambridge is the city where I started my career as a wedding photographer and I still love to shoot weddings here. Actually, it is where I got married myself, so I know all about the location from both sides of the camera! I’ve shot couples here in all seasons and at the university city’s most iconic locations, such as Trinity, St John’s, King’s College, Selwyn College, and also small, intimate ceremonies at the Register Office. I’ve also been honoured to photograph weddings at many of the country venues nearby.
I seem to have a map of the city imprinted in my head as I’ve scooted down these streets between ancient colleges all through lockdown, with a camera to shoot in all sorts of light. I’ve also run through them numerous times to get to the next vantage point on the backs to get a great image of a couple on a punt! And that’s the really exciting thing about Cambridge – it’s possible to slip away from the ceremony or wedding breakfast location and find somewhere wonderful and inspiring for some quiet photography.

Kind Words

Basically, I couldn’t thank you enough for how you made myself and others feel during our big day. Right from the moment you walked into the cottage where my bridesmaids and I were getting ready you put us totally at ease. You made me feel relaxed about the time we had, with the (not so perfect) weather, with relaxing rather than posing (which I’d be terrible at anyway) and with your knowledge of how the day was going to run.
