Over to Niamh for today’s blog post!
We first met Alex when I was bridesmaid for my friend Amy at her wedding to Neil in 2012. After seeing the first of many amazing photos Alex took on their day (a fab shot of the bridal party on the beach that my mum has since shown to practically everyone she knows) I decided if I ever got married I would have to book Alex. We weren’t engaged at the time and I didn’t tell Ben I’d made this decision until we finally did get engaged 2 years later…
Ben and I met through performing in a charity pantomime. It was at the 25th anniversary party of said panto that we got talking and agreed to go on a date. The party was held at the Underglobe and it was really special to return to the venue for our wedding reception. Being a theatrical bunch, our friends spent most of the night on stage with the band in rockeaoke heaven.
Our wedding had many moving parts. Choosing to have three separate venues on a cold day in November was something of a risk. We decided to take a boat between the church ceremony and the reception. This was an amazing chance for our friends and family who don’t live in London to see some sights from the river. However, it did come with a very strict departure time. I know Alex was initially concerned about the tight schedule but he did a fab job of utilising the pockets of time we did have to capture some moments of the two of us away from the crowds.
I couldn’t recommend Alex more, it was like having another guest at the wedding who just happened to be taking an inordinate amount of photos. Both Alex & Will made everyone feel at ease and I actually didn’t notice them taking photos for most of the day. I can’t wait to see how they turn out and have a chance to relive the best day ever!
