The Wedding of Issy and Tom at the beautiful le Manoir aux Quat’saisons in Oxford was almost the perfect stereotype of a beautiful, English, summertime wedding.
It came right in the middle of a crazy-busy chain of three consecutive weddings for me, but the low-key, family and friends orientated vibe meant that it was definitely one to sit back and enjoy!

Having stayed the night before at the Belfry in Oxford, morning broke with the most perfect blue skies and sunshine as I headed over to Issy’s room to get some shots of the preparation process. It soon became clear that Issy and Tom are all about laughter and silliness, which really leant itself to an enjoyable day!

The wedding was a simple affair, ceremony and lunch then home, but it was crammed full of wonderful details and lots of fun. Transport to le Manoir was arranged in a beautiful, vintage car and the proceedings themselves were wonderful – with personal touches, such as pupils from the boy’s school where both bride and groom work singing some a cappella pieces, really making it something special. The room was a tad on the small side though leading to me feeling really rather quite intrusive as I squeezed myself in amongst the pot plants!

Drinks and canapés with croquet on the lawn enhanced the particularly English-summer-feel to the wedding, which inspired a few photographs outside in the sun before we headed in for the most amazing five-course meal, courtesy of Raymond Blanc’s restaurant (which I could not resist sneaking into to snap a few images of the food on its way out to the guests!).

At such a family and friend-orientated wedding it was great to be sitting among the guests and getting to soak up the atmosphere as people chatted and joked – so wonderfully laid back! Once the fantastic lunch was sadly at an end, we headed outside to grab a few more mad croquet-inspired images before the happy couple disappeared off in the vintage car to head home and watch Game of Thrones – a perfectly individual end to their wonderfully individual wedding.
