Wedding: Hotel Du Vin, Poole and St Nicholas Church Studland – Andrea and Damian

What a weekend, a 15 hour wedding on Sunday, a 4 hour drive then another wedding the next day. Good job they were both good ones! Andrea and Damian started me off, getting married at St Nicholas Church in Studland, following it up with an intimate candle lit reception at Hotel Du Vin in Poole.

Here’s a quick one from the day. Stay tuned, lots more to come soon!

Wedding – Harry Warren House, Studland, Dorset – Lynne Marie and Olli

Organising a wedding is stressful at the best of times, but Lynne and Olli decided to set themselves an extra challenge: they masterminded theirs from Canada! Thank the lord for Skype and the internet! They had chosen a beautiful location on the coast in Dorset, and I couldn’t wait to get some shots of this (pretty darn photogenic) couple overlooking the sea.

The night before the wedding, the bridal party and I stayed in the same cosy B&B (the ones South West England seems to do so well) and when the morning came we were overjoyed to see that although it was windy, the sun was out and the views were stunning. As Lynne prepped for the day, I was witness to just how small the UK is: Lynne’s good friend and make-up guru Joanna did make up for one of my first ever weddings (Kate and Paul, in case you’re interested!).

The ceremony really set the tone for the day: intimate, full of good vibes for Lynne and Olli and crammed with friendly faces! Second photographer Chris (of Gryphon Photography, FYI) had to squeeze around people at the back of the church to get shots of the couple. After the ceremony it was on to Warren House for the reception, where the amount of work Lynne and Olli had done before coming over to the UK became apparent: most noticeable were the swathes of handmade bunting lining the marquee.

There were so many wonderful moments in this day that sometimes I wished I had four hands to hold two cameras at once! How could anyone forget the hat competition or the MC ‘walking on water’ (read: skinny dipping). And these guys know how to rock a crazy booth – evidence later.
