It’s a great story and I have to say they make a great couple. My job was easy: put them together and you can’t help but get photos that really show their love for one another. Rain may have tried its hardest to dampen the day but that didn’t stop the infectious happiness of the celebrations from shining through.

We grabbed this shot quickly just before dessert – which, incidentally, was a rather tasty champagne cheesecake!

ps. I’d intended to post this when I got back to Bristol last night but since it was 4am I passed out in bed instead! Whoops…

Phew what a day! My last wedding of the year, Alana and David at Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hertfordshire. Just got home, downloaded the images and well this one popped out at me. Straight out of camera, have to say I love it.

Day started with the wedding prep at Alana’s parents’ house just outside Bishop’s Stortford. Have to say it was a great house for getting ready in with a fab kitchen at it’s centre. Lots of space and lots of great company. Who could ask for a better start?

Ceremony was held at Bishop’s Stortford College’s Memorial Hall. Both Alana and David went to school there when they were younger and the hall actually makes a really great venue for a wedding. Oh and if you’re wondering why David has such a big grin on his face during the signing of the register it’s because he just realised the organist was playing the Superman theme…

On to Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hertfordshire for the reception. Really great location, we drove through wonderful grounds on the way up to the House. Only shame was that it got dark before we got the chance to go take photographs outside. If anybody’s having a summer wedding here please get in touch, I’d love to try it in the long evenings!
