Cambridge: King’s College at Night

Filed under Uncategorized • Written by Alex @ 6:48 pm on December 20, 2009.

So for those of you who don’t know, once a year, around Christmas time, the BBC descends on King’s College. The reason? Well it’s Christmas carol time and King’s happens to have one of the best choirs in the world.

This year they decided to cheat a bit and lit the entire outside. The reason was to give the impression of daylight while filming inside. Anyway, I happened to be driving past and it was quite a site to behold! Shame about all the scaffolding though :(

Mental note: Must try doing this myself sometime, how hard can it be to light an entire chapel?? (check out the last photo in this post.

More adventures to come!

  1. Very impressed by this. There are so many ‘cookie-cutter’, practically identical images of Kings College – this one is surprising, refreshing and very skilled. Would buy this one were it on the market in Cambridge.

  2. This is a brilliant image. Instantly recognisable, but still completely unique. Well done Alex
