So I got a bit of time over the weekend to go out for a wander and capture some of the fab Autumn colours I’ve seen around on digital film. I have to confess with all the professional photography I do these days it’s rare for me to get the chance to go out and just take photos for myself without any pressure. I think it must be something akin to how anglers feel… Anyway, great fun, really relaxing and great to see Cambridge in such colour.

So meet Fleur. For those of you who don’t know, Fleur is Holly’s horse. Unfortunately recently she’s been a bit lame after lots of mites attacked her hooves. As such Holly and I have had to go down pretty much every day to try and get rid of them (yes that explains one of the reasons I’ve been even busier than normal!). Anyway, they’re nearly all gone so we managed to take her for the first ride in a few months.
It’s a really good job too, Holly and I are planning to ride across Mongolia next year and, well, I’ve only been riding for a couple of months and so have a LOT of practice to get in!
Let me introduce Fleur…

So last weekend Cambridge got taken over by over 100 people from around the world. Yep it was time for 2009′s Cambridge Lindy Exchange. Had a great time, lots of cake, fun and friendly people. As usual for me I couldn’t put the camera down and as such spent the weekend photographing in between songs (well during a lot of them as well). Had lots of time to play with lighting and trying to focus with fast moving people in dark environments. I have to confess photographing Lindy has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences over the years. Getting it right is tough! But boy does it make you learn fast and most of it transfers nicely to other photography areas.
Anyway I’ll be putting a lot more photos up soon but here’s a few to keep you going…

So just before my weekend goes all manic I thought I’d put up this slideshow I put together from Susannah and Tom’s wedding earlier this year.
It’s a format I’m experimenting with so feel free to let me know what you think in the comments!
More adventures to come!

So October is proving to be a very busy month for me! I’ve got meetings with new couples coming out of my ears, engagement sessions and this weekend is Cambridge Lindy Exchange! Phew! No sleep for me. Standing out head and shoulders above the rest though was my first Girl, Girl wedding last weekend at the George in Rye. And wow what a wedding it was; Kerry and Sue. Sue’s a very fine photographer of her own and as such it was a real pleasure to photograph her wedding. Sue also invited along another photographer friend, Chris Beaumont, to cover the day. Now for those of you who don’t know Chris and I, we both have two things in common, we’re a *touch* competitive and a *touch* fond of a good single malt. As such and with Sue’s blessing we decided to put a slight wager on: a bottle of single malt to the best photo of the day. Chris, the shot below is my entry, where is yours?

So autumn is coming! As such we decided it would be a great idea to take Jon and Aurelie out for a quick engagement session before their wedding next year. Turns out Saturday really wasn’t the best choice of a day! Overcast and very windy. Oh well, I think we’re going to try again for better weather soon and once the leaves have turned a little more golden. Until then though here’s a sneak peak of some of the photos from Sat.
Recognize the location? Yep I thought I’d take them to my favorite derelict house just outside of Cambridge…
