From wedding to pre-wedding. Spent a lovely day last month with Gift and Paul shooting around central London. The weather wasn’t great at times but these guys were troopers. I’m going to hand over the blog here to Gift, I can’t wait to see you both again next month for your wedding though!
We first heard of Alex when we asked our wedding planner to recommend some photographers with really dramatic, high fashion styles. She sent us a list to choose from, and as soon as Paul saw Alex’s website, he decided straight away that we had to have him!
Paul and I met in London, but moved to Bangkok last year, so we wanted to have a pre-wedding photoshoot in London to revisit our special places and tell our story. We talked to Alex and his lovely assistant Louise about it, and they were just as excited about the idea as we were. They asked lots of questions and were genuinely interested in our story.
We planned to have our shoot in mid April, but unfortunately had to postpone our trip to the UK to late June. Alex and Louise were very understanding, and accommodated to our tight schedule for the trip too. And this wasn’t the only drama we had; it was also pouring it down, despite supposedly being summertime! At one point, we thought we would have to call the whole thing off, but we decided to go through with it anyway….
It turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable day I’ve had! Cold and wet, but really fun! As we were walking around London, me holding the muddy bottom of my massive wedding dress, people would smile and congratulate us. I felt like a (slightly muddy) princess! Alex and Jay made the day so much fun. As we stopped for dinner, it felt like we were just hanging out with some friends, whom we decided to have a crazy dress-up day with!
We saw some of the photos Alex took on the day, and even without any editing, they looked amazing! The rain actually added a unique charm to our pictures. Alex somehow managed to make what was a gloomy day with grey sky look glamorous and romantic! I can’t wait to see the final version of the photos. They’re going to make me even more excited for our wedding!
More adventures soon,
