A very white wedding. So far this year I’ve had lots of rain, and a little bit of sunshine at my weddings. I guess that left one weather condition out which was determined to make an appearance. Yep on Saturday for Rob and Catherine’s wedding it decided to snow. As I’m sure you’re all aware the whole week has been filled with snow, however we woke up in the morning to sun and blue skys. Kinda fortunate really since I was starting to get worried about the hour and a half drive I was going to have to make in the morning to make it for the wedding.

Well yes anyway, the weather was superb for the majority of the day, if a touch cold. Rob and Catherine got married at St Thomas More church in Leicester just a few minutes drive from Catherine’s parents’ house. It was a really beautiful ceremony for a really lovely couple (well as loverly as lawyers can get ;) )

I’m still sorting my way through the photos so you can rest assured there are a lot more to come but I just had to put this one up. Just as I was wrapping up for the evening we got the snow we had all

been hoping for. With a bit of lighting magic to turn on the outside light (yes it had no light bulb in it so I had to do it myself…) we managed to grab this. Enjoy!A snowy wedding at Beaumont Hall Leicester

Stay tuned, I’ll be updating this blog post with more photos as they come in.

UPDATE: More photos added, hit the jump to see them!

Mad props have to go out to Catherine here for braving the snow or more precisely the ice. I didn’t like to ask at the time but I’m guessing it’s definitely not easy to walk on sheet ice in a wedding dress and high heels…

Hope you enjoyed and feel free to leave a comment.

More adventures to come!

Alex :D

  1. Hi Alex
Brilliant! Can’t wait for the rest.
Glad you got home safe and sound. Spoke to another new bride in the bridal shop this morning. Married in Cambridge same day – weather much worse – 16 people never made it to the wedding!
    Kind regards
    Martin

  5. Beautiful photographs and lovely to be able to see them back here in summer time NZ. I haven’t seen Catherine for 17 years. Catherine you are beautiful! I am trying to see more of the family in the photos. I think I can spot Ann and Martin but of course they only had ‘bit-parts’ on the day so not easy to see. Thanks

  7. A blast from the past! Remember us your old neighbours in Haywards Heath? The last photo I have of you was of you in your first communion dress! You were adorable then but WOW, Catherine you are beautiful now.We are so thrilled and delighted and happy for you. Rob is a lucky man to marry you, and your family is great too! These are stunning photos and I love this blog idea, it turned out to be a great way to catch up on the years too.
