Photographers: A walk around Cambridge
So what do you do on a Friday night? Well this Friday I got the chance to go out and shoot with a group of local Cambridge photographers. A really great bunch: Dave, Karen, Martin and Ben. I had loads of fun, it’s actually the first time I’ve been out shooting with local photographers in ages. Really going to have to do it more often. Recently I’ve been shooting a lot of projects with a predefined set of objectives and limitations, it’s always liberating to just go for a wander and try and make something out of nothing. Anyway enough of me, here’s some photos:
Dave, one of the other photographers silhouetted. The yellow in front is another of my little flashes with a CTO and a half on a stand…

Here’s Karen, another member of the group, with some balloons which we came by. This time Karen is lit by a SB900 raking across the gate.

And well you might be familiar with this guy. It’s Ben a good friend and adventurer of mine. Here he is climbing avec balloons. Obviously heading towards an open window and a girl waiting to be wowed…

One more, sorry it’s a touch small but it’s from flickr and not one taken by myself. This was taken by Dave, you can see it on his flickr page here. It’s actually of yours truly. I brought along some of my flashes to the shoot and lent them to the others to play with. It’s great to share equipment and play with things that you wouldn’t normally have access to. Here I set the flash up on a stand in front of me and Dave used it to silhouette me!
That’s all for now folks. Coming up soon a little project I’ve been working on involving trees and people…
Alex

Just because I like to do crazy stuff. I’d have thought anyone would be up for it, I mean honestly!
Good photos again, I do like the one of me, might have to steal it for facebook or similar if that’s ok.
Hi Alex, just found this. Love these. Ben looks like a deer in headlights. On a wall. With balloons. And the one of Dave – wow! 007! As for me, sorry I couldn’t relax as much as you were asking me to, but I love the light and the completely bizarre set of balloons that seem to be following us everywhere! Great to see you again tonight. I’ll let you know if/when my photos come back from California… Karen
PS I Lindy! Want to know more about the scene here…
