Colin Hazel

So wednesday gave me the chance to photograph a great local musician, Colin Hazel. We grabbed some lights and a grand piano (as you do…) and headed to the Centre at St Paul’s for a quick photoshoot. Was really nice to not have to pick the music for once with Colin banging out some fab Jazz tracks on the grand piano. If you’ve not seen this guy play I implore you to head along to the Snug or the Man on the Moon next time he’s playing!

Video – Catherine and Matthew

So I quickly put together a video of Catherine and Matthews engagement session from the last weekend. This is the first video I’ve made from still images but I think it’s quite effective and I’m going to try it again in the future. Let me know what you all think!

E-Session – Matthew and Catherine – Cambridge

So Saturday saw my first E-Session of the season, the lovely Matthew and Catherine. The premise of the shoot was the fact that they’re really big kids at heart, so where do kids head? The park of course! These guys are real jokers, I spent the entirety of the first part of the session desperately trying to hold back laughter and hold the camera straight. After lots of fun we headed into Cambridge for something a bit more serious and finished off on the Bridge of Sighs (well Matt and Cat on the bridge, me on an adjacent one) at St Johns college.

Hopping Mad – CrazyBooth

So, Saturday saw this years Cambridge Lindy Hoppers, Hopathon. It’s a 12 hour sponsored dance held each year in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and, it’s always a hoot. Personally I’ve never seen quite so many home baked goodies at once either (maybe with the exception of a particular school fate when I was 10…). Anyway, to do my bit I wheeled out the “Crazy Booth”, (a mini photo studio with lots of crazy costumes) and sold photos all day for CF. As you might be able to tell from the photos, it was possibly a *little* bit fun ;)

A little bit of Snow

So, while drinking cocktails and watching the famous Colin Hazel play at the Snug last night it began to snow. and snow. and snow. For those of you reading this outside the UK (yes don’t try and hide I know you’re there ;) ) we do often get some snow but this was about the first time in three years that we’ve had a decent covering. Not being one to miss an opportunity I quickly ran out of the door, camera in hand to get a few shots (in between getting hit by snowballs). Stay tuned for more, hopefully the snow will hang around for a while and I’ll get the chance to go out for a more organised explore!

Travel – Uganda in photos

So after the success of the Uganda film I’ve had loads of requests from people to put up some of the photographs. Here’s just a few to whet your appetite some more ;)

While out for a walk we came across a Primary school, before we knew what was happening we were dragged over to be introduced and watch them dance. They really were amazing kids so full of life an energy. We gave them all we had, one bar of chocolate, 2 granola bars, some maze and a bottle of water. Here’s the teacher giving out pieces of the granola bars.
